Client: South Dublin County Council
South Dublin County Council commissioned BEC Consultants to carry out an inventory of the natural biodiversity present in the five major regional parks and associated neighbourhood parks.
In addition to carrying out survey work that provided a database of the flora and fauna present in each park, the information was linked to ArcGIS habitat maps and the data analysed to allow the client to compare the biodiversity in each of their parks. A key responsibility was to also make South Dublin County Council aware of its obligations to conserve species protected under both Irish and European law.
